RULES
2007 MODIFIED STREET STOCK
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
- 4 point harness mounted to cage or frame.
- Full fire suit.
- Kill switch marked on-off and in reach of driver and outside of car.
- Fire extinguisher with gauge in reach of driver.
- Fuel cell, securely mounted and protected.
- Battery securely mounted, but not inside driver compartment.
- Drive shaft painted white and drive shaft loop.
- Metal racing seat.
- Front and rear metal firewall.
- Roll cage, not less than 1.25 inch outside diameter. (1.5 inch recommended). Must be frame mounted. Minimum 3 door bars on driver’s side with plate welded or bolted to bars. Roll cage must be above driver helmet and top hoop must have crossbar.
- Nylon mesh window screens are recommended.
- No mirrors allowed.
BODIES
- Any American manufactured production passenger car.
- Must be stock appearing.
- Front inner fender wells may be removed.
- Rear wheel tubs and trunk area may be removed from car.
- A rear deck spoiler may be used. Spoiler shall not exceed five inches of material. This spoiler must remain straight so that there will be no rolling the top of the spoiler. Spoiler will be smooth from the body to the top. Spoiler may be no wider than the body of the car. No side supports, sideboard or bracing of any kind are allowed. No wings.
- Bumpers must be mounted securely. Reinforcement directly behind bumper is allowed, but must be concealed behind bumper. Enclosed round tubing rolled around or shortened.
- Aftermarket nosepieces are allowed, however, these nosepieces must be mounted in such a manner that the nose appears unaltered and fits the rest of the cars body.
- All cars will be equipped with a front and rear tow hook. These shall be strong enough to support the weight of the car and easily accessible by track personnel and wrecker crews.
- Numbers must be at least 18 inches high and three inches thick on roof and sides.
- No glass permitted. A ¼ to ½ inch mesh screen or bars are required over front windshield open
FRAMES
- Must have stock frame back to rear axle tube.
- Unibodied cars must have front and rear frame tied together on both sides using a 2x3x0.83 inch tubing or square tubing over rear axle.
WHEELS AND TIRES
- Bead locks are optional on right side only.
- One-inch lug nuts are required. Larger studs may be installed.
TRANSMISSION, BELL HOUSING, AND CLUTCH
- Clutch type transmission must be equipped with steel bell housing.
- Triple clutch allowed.
- Power glide transmission allowed w/coupler.
- No quick change devices.
ENGINE
- NO magnetos
- Cast iron blocks are required. An aluminum intake manifold optional.
- Engine offset must be kept within two inches of the center line of the front cross member.
- Engine “cast in” motor mount locations cannot be removed or altered on block.
- Castings and fittings must not be changed or altered.
- #1 plug no farther back than center of ball joint.
- Engine cooling system may be modified.
- Aftermarket exhaust headers are allowed. Exhaust system must be mounted as to direct gases away from driver and driver compartment. No grass burners.
- Vehicle must start without being pushed or pulled.
- Two or four barrel carburetor is allowed. A spacer is allowed. No more than 1 ¼ inch from top to bottom of carb allowed. Double pumper allowed.
- No alcohol fuel allowed.
- Must have drive shaft loop.
REAR ENDS
- Any OEM passenger car type or truck types rear end may be used. Floater ends are permitted.
- No aluminum allowed except lowering blocks, axle caps, and drive plate.
- No quick-change devices allowed.
- Ford nine inch rear ends are allowed to be used in all brands of cars.
- No traction control devices or lift bars of any kind.
- No Heims joints of any kind on rear ends.
- No pull bars.
- No J-Bars or pan hard bars.
STEERING
- In cockpit steering may be modified to drivers taste, but must remain on left side of car.
- Steering box and components must be OEM.
- No rack and pinion steering allowed.
BRAKES
- All cars will have brakes in operating condition on all four wheels.
- OEM brake calipers only. Brake rotors may not be modified.
SUSPENSION
- Rear suspension may be changed from coil to leaf springs using stock OEM parts. Multi leaf springs are allowed.
- Any coil springs on the car must be minimum of four and one half inch in diameter and must remain in stock 4-link position.
- No torque arms or lift bars.
- Weight jacks are optional. No hydraulic or mechanical jacking devices are allowed.
- Front suspension and steering must be in stock location. Must be replaceable with stock part from same type of suspension. Tubular A-Arms at top only are permitted.
- Stock passenger car spindles only.
- One shock per wheel only.
- Springs and or shocks are not allowed anywhere on car other than at each wheel.
- No coil over shocks or springs allowed.
- Any disagreement over technical questions or decisions will be resolved by the officials. When their decision is rendered, it is final andbinding and no further discussion will take place.
